Craft of the Month: Fall Family Bucket List Tree πŸ‚

September is the perfect time to slow down, get outside, and be a little more intentional about making memories together. This month, we're turning your family's fall plans into a simple little craft you can enjoy all season long!

πŸ›’ What You'll Need

🍁 How to Make It

1. Draw your boxes.
Draw your boxes to begin your list. Don't worry about making them perfect β€” little hands can help with this part!

2. Create your bucket list.
Together, choose your family's favorite fall activities and write one next to each box.

2. Start making memories!
Begin to mark off the boxes throughout the season as you complete each activity.

πŸ’‘ Pro Tip: Instead of simply checking off each bucket-list item, use Polaroid-style photos to mark each one complete! πŸ“Έ

By the end of fall, you'll have a sweet little visual scrapbook of your family's season β€” and a keepsake your little ones can look back on for years to come. πŸ‚πŸ€Ž

No Polaroid camera? No problem! Print your phone photos in a Polaroid-style format and get the same look.

🍎 A Few Ideas for Your Fall Bucket List

🍎 Go apple picking
πŸŽƒ Visit a pumpkin patch
πŸ‚ Take a family nature walk
πŸ₯§ Bake something together
🎬 Have a cozy family movie night
🌽 Visit a fall festival
πŸ”₯ Make s'mores
πŸ“š Pick out new fall books
🧑 Have a backyard picnic
🍁 Jump in a pile of leaves

The sweetest part? Your bucket list doesn't have to be extravagant. Sometimes the memories that stick with our little ones are the simplest ones β€” baking in the kitchen, taking a walk after dinner, reading one more book before bed, or jumping into a pile of leaves.

This fall, let's be intentional about making room for the little moments. 🀎

πŸ›οΈ This Month’s Little Find

πŸ“Έ Turn your fall memories into keepsakes.

This pocket-sized printer lets you turn photos from your phone into 2Γ—3" prints that peel and stickβ€”perfect for adding a little photo to your Fall Family Bucket List Tree every time you check something off. It connects via Bluetooth and prints in under a minute.

Why I love it for September: It takes your bucket list from a cute fall craft and turns it into a little family memory book in the making. πŸ‚πŸ“Έ

We’re grateful to spotlight local businesses that strengthen our communityβ€”be sure to support and share the love!

Q. We'd love to know more about youβ€”please tell the community your 'Why' behind your business.

  • Chase and Taylor recently made their way back to North Texas, moving to Van Alstyne in March after spending time all across Texas, including a three-year stint in Dallas. In 2025, they had the opportunity to purchase Home Instead of Collin County, which remains their day-to-day business.

But they weren't quite finished building.

Metroplex Restroom Trailers was born as an opportunity to step outside the franchise world, build something from the ground up, and become more connected to the community they now call home. Most of all, Chase and Taylor love the opportunity to serve their neighbors during some of life's most special celebrations.

Metroplex offers portable luxury restroom trailers for weddings, parties, special events, seasonal gatherings, and even long-term construction projects. With heating and cooling, running water, and the ability to operate independently of a power or water source, their trailers offer a comfortable and elevated alternative when your event needs additional restroom facilities.

And there's a fun little story behind how it all started: the first time Chase and Taylor ever saw a portable restroom trailer was at an annual fundraiser for Ride On Center for Kids (ROCK), a Central Texas nonprofit providing equine-assisted therapy for children and veterans with disabilities. They were fascinated by the concept β€” and the rest is history!

Because sometimes it's the little details that make a big difference β€” and we're always happy to spotlight a local business helping make celebrations just a little better. ✨

Q. What charitable initiative are you most passionate about within our local community?

  • 🐎 ROCK β€” Ride On Center for Kids

ROCK is a Central Texas nonprofit providing equine-assisted services for children, adults, and veterans with physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges. Located in Georgetown, ROCK has been serving Central Texas since 1998.

  • 🐴 Heritage Ranch β€” β€œRanchers for the Cure”
Each year, Chase and Taylor support Heritage Ranch’s β€œRanchers for the Cure” partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association, helping bring the community together to support the fight against Alzheimer’s.

Q. We’re all about celebrating our neighbors β€” which local business holds a special place at your table? πŸ’›

  • β˜• Myth & Ember

When she's not busy building the business, you might find Taylor at Myth & Ember, one of her favorite local spots β€” and these days, she may just have their 9-month-old daughter, Carter, along with her!

  • Cozy coffee shop offering house-roasted beans, prepared foods, and a selection of teas.

🏈 Little Bites of the month: β€œFootball Pizza” πŸ•

Tiny pizzas. Big game-day energy. πŸˆπŸ•

Use English muffins or mini naan to make adorable individual football pizzas. They’re easy enough for toddlers to help assemble and perfect for a little game-day table.

What You'll Need

  • πŸ• Mini naan or English muffins

  • πŸ… Pizza sauce

  • πŸ§€ Shredded mozzarella

  • πŸ— Optional: finely chopped cooked chicken or turkey pepperoni

  • πŸ₯¦ Optional: finely chopped veggies

  • 🏈 A little mozzarella for the football β€œlaces”

Little Helper Job:
Let your toddler spread the sauce, sprinkle the cheese, and help add the toppings. For the finishing touch, use thin strips of mozzarella to create football laces on top!

Bake according to your naan/English muffin and cheese package directions, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

🏟️ Serve It Up!

Set each little pizza on a football-themed plate and let the kids enjoy their own β€œGame Day Pizza.”

Bonus: Have the kids decorate their own paper football placemat while their pizzas bake. πŸ–οΈπŸˆ

πŸ’• Giving Back: Heroes for Children

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and this month we're shining a little light on an organization doing something incredibly meaningful for Texas families.

πŸ’› Heroes for Children

No family should have to face childhood cancer alone.

Heroes for Children provides financial and emotional support to Texas families who have a child battling cancer, helping ease some of the everyday burdens that come with an incredibly difficult diagnosis.

From helping with essential expenses to creating meaningful experiences and providing comfort and care, their mission is simple: show up for families when they need it most.

And because they're right here in North Texas, this month's cause feels especially close to home. Heroes for Children serves families across the region, including Collin, Grayson, Denton, and Dallas counties.

πŸŽ—οΈ September is a reminder to wear gold, spread awareness, and show a little extra love to the families walking this road.

🌟 A Little Way to Help

Want to join us in supporting Heroes for Children?

Whether it's making a donation, sharing their mission with a friend, or simply learning more about the families they serve, every little bit of support matters.

This September, we're thinking of the brave little ones fighting, the families beside them, and all of the people working to make their journey a little lighter. πŸ’›
